Als Folge des Putschversuchs am 15. Juli war die Türkei von Rating-Agenturen als Land mit «ziemlich hohem Risiko» eingestuft worden. Nachdem sich die Türkei gegen die «fehlerhafte» Herabsetzung mit Drohungen gewehrt hatte, setzt die Rating-Agentur Standard & Poor’s nun noch einen drauf: Ab sofort bewertet sie die Türkei sogar als «Hochrisiko»- Land.

Standard & Poor’s hatte im vergangenen Monat schon die Bonität türkischer Staatsanleihen herabgestuft und den Ausblick auf «negativ» gesetzt, was weitere Verschlechterungen der Kreditwürdigkeit andeutet. Die Agentur begründete die schlechtere Einschätzung mit den Folgen des versuchten Militärputsches und der Polarisierung im Land.
